painting & electronic hiatus

Our living room is the family  headquarters, everything happens in this room. Television, computers, Wii, family talks, Bible study, game night, lego creations, piano practice, cartoon viewing, bird watching, reading, puppy playing....you name it, it happens in this room. This was a big task to empty this room of all its character in order to give it a new color (ceilings and all). We also have huge vaulted ceilings, somewhere around 18-20'. crazy.
We have finally done it. We've painted our living room! It only took us 9+ years, but we did it. The last remaining room in our house to get a new coat of paint. It feels so nice, fresh, warm, and new. I am a happy Girl.  We are so blessed to have some a-mazing friends who came over to help us out.  Our Besties, who we can call on for anything, anytime, anywhere...thank you, Friends!

Jenn & Jellybean with a few paint drips on them, it was only the beginning.
Hard Rock, ready to be the "Roller Controller" for the day!
Jellybean HAD to help...she loves working on projects!
We had to unplug and dismantle everything to make this happen so the fam has been without electronic access for a few days and you know what....they survived! Guess what else? They got CREATIVE:

my goobers.
I have no idea why they thought stuffing a bunch of stuffed animals and blankets in their shirts would be so funny, but they did it for almost 2 hours, laughing the entire time. (Dexter could not figure out what was going on, he was very confused at the extra bulk!)  We talked to the kids about it at dinner too...we pointed out that they CAN have fun without the computer, TV, and Wii.  They are growing up in a new generation where none of us adults can relate, but that is a whole other post.  I have loved the electronic hiatus because it has reminded me of all the fun me and my siblings used to have together.
